Ayanda Tloti
Ayanda Tloti is a South African fine artist whose work explores the relationship between identity, emotion, and the spaces we inhabit. Her creative journey began in childhood. In 2010, she won her first visual arts competition and received a golden trophy that marked the start of a lifelong devotion to art.
After matriculating from the National School of the Arts with a distinction in 2D design, Ayanda went on to study Fine Art, earning both her National Diploma (2018) and National Degree cum laude (2019). Her early career included working at the ABSA Gallery and exhibiting at spaces such as Alliance Française Gallery, FADA Gallery, and the Pretoria Art Museum. Her work was also featured at the FNB Art Fair.
Beyond accolades, Ayanda’s art is deeply personal. She believes art is a living extension of one’s self, a dialogue between one’s history, memory, faith, and self-discovery. Her creative process is intuitive and introspective, often inspired by her own experiences and the inner worlds of those she paints for.
Whether through painting, drawing, or mixed media, Ayanda aims to create pieces that tell a story and artworks that embody her clients’ identities.
“My work is a study of the human story — the traumas we carry, the beauty we remember, and the wisdom we inherit. Each portrait becomes a mirror of identity, shaped by the lives we’ve lived and the potential in who we are becoming.”
