Oil Paintings
Our oil paintings are created with high-quality materials and sealed with a premium varnish to protect the colours and surface for years to come. To ensure your artwork stays in excellent condition, please keep the following in mind:
1. Displaying Your Painting
Hang your painting in a space with low traffic to avoid accidental bumps or falls.
Avoid placing it where it will receive direct sunlight. Prolonged UV exposure can cause fading and may lead to cracking due to the heat of the sun.
Ensure the wall is dry and stable to prevent moisture damage.
2. Handling and Protection
Do not drop the artwork. The wooden frame can be damaged, and paint along the edges may chip or wear.
Always handle the painting by the frame, not the canvas surface.
3. Cleaning Your Painting
Over time, a painting may gather dust. Because it is varnished, it can be cleaned safely with the following methods:
Gently dust using a soft, dry brush (a clean makeup brush works well).
For slightly tougher dirt, use a soft cloth lightly dampened with cool distilled water and a very small amount of mild soap.
For textured areas, gently dab with a cotton swab instead of wiping.
Always test your cleaning method on a small, hidden corner first.
Never scrub, and never use household cleaners.
Charcoal & Pencil Drawings
Our charcoal and pencil artworks are made using professional-grade materials designed for longevity and rich tonal quality. However, these mediums are naturally delicate and require careful handling.
1. Smudging Prevention
Charcoal and graphite can smudge easily when touched.
Human skin produces natural oils, which can stain or mark Fabriano paper when handled directly.
Avoid touching the surface of the drawing at all times.
2. Paper Care
Fabriano paper is durable but can still bend, fold, or crease if not stored properly.
Store drawings flat and in a dry environment until you frame them.
3. Best Protection
The most reliable way to preserve a charcoal or pencil drawing is to frame it behind glass.
Framing protects the artwork from dust, smudging, fingerprints, and environmental damage.
