“Let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story, those He redeemed from the hand of the foe, those He gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.”
Inspired by this scripture, this postlude to the Warfare series reflects life after the battle, after the dying of the old self, after the surrender that brought rebirth. Here, two women stand clothed in white, the colour that represents the Holy Spirit, purity, and the redeemed. Their garments echo the bold assurance of those who have been carried out of darkness and gathered into grace.
One gazes toward the west, the other toward the south, each holding the weight of her own story in her eyes. Their expressions reveal a past that has shaped them, yet does not define them anymore. Though their journeys differ, both stand as living evidence of redemption, women called out of scattered places and brought into the same light.
Their closeness suggests shared testimony, a communion of those who have been rescued and restored. This artwork speaks to what remains after warfare: not the struggle, not the fracture, but the steady truth that redemption gathers, heals, and makes whole.
